Stewardship is one of those delightfully old-fashioned words that doesn’t have a lot of use, it seems, outside of church. Which is a shame, because stewardship is a word that could inform so much more of our lives. Stewardship asks us to reflect on and live out the questions of how do we use the resources of time, talents, treasures, and faith with which God has gifted us to make our lives more full, our families more vital, our faith community more vibrant, the creation more whole?
Over the four Sundays of Stewardship season, folk in the congregation are sharing testimonies of what it means for them to make Essex Center UMC an open, vibrant, inviting, inclusive, and relevant community of people learning to follow Jesus.
Then on Stewardship Sunday, November 15, Essex Center UMC will celebrate one aspect of stewardship as we share and pool our gifts to energize our church’s ministries in 2016.
