Following Christ means getting involved in God’s world to make a difference.

Folk at Essex Center UMC know that church is not just a Sunday morning activity– it is everything we do as part of God’s people. So on the other six days of the weeks, you may find us “doing church” just about anywhere: swinging a hammer on a Habitat for Humanity build in Colchester, stocking shelves at the Jericho Ecumenical Food Shelf, working with Hmong refugees, singing at an area nursing home, or working with other faith communities at the Joint Urban Ministries Project in Burlington.

 

We remember Saint Francis of Assisi’s wise advice:

“Preach always; if necessary, use words.”
